Virtual Vox Pop is a weekly open mic in which we ask you, the reader, to sound off on a particular topic. This week, it’s video game series moving from 2D to 3D. The news of Team 17′s new 2D Worms game, Worms Reloaded, caused the proverbial warm fuzzy, not only because I’m a massive [...]

After making his debut in 1995, Rayman will be coming to the iPhone and iPod touch soon. While I haven’t been a fan of it, I’ve always been a fan of the crazy ravin’ rabbids in the game. What’s awesome though is that this game looks so much like the old school consoles games. As Rayman, you must recapture the great Protoon after it has been stolen. You’ll also need to free the Electoons and restore the world’ harmony. It closely resembles and sounds like Sonic and even something like say the Lion King. Plus, it looks fun! What other need must you fulfill while sitting down in the subway waiting for the time to pass you by?

Today, Zatun announced the release of The Legend of Vraz, a PC game featuring Indian-themed side-scrolling 2D action. The developer likens it to the original Prince of Persia or Super Mario Bros., but with distinct, hand-painted, Amiga-like graphics. We’ve already written extensively about the The Legend of Vraz in 2009, and it looks like the [...]

I’m of fairly certain mind that no video game developer wants their product associated with drugs (well, at least publicly), but Popcap’s Bejeweled series, in its many incarnations, has been my equivalent of digital crack. The most recent addiction has been Bejeweled Blitz which has devoured the vast majority of may Facebook time. Forget friends, [...]

It’s amazing what a little ingenuity, creativity, dedication, and love for old computers can do. It can inspire you to create melodic chiptunes, or, you know, connect to Twitter using a 30 year old personal computer. This Saturday, February 20th, the Personal Computer Museum will make PC history by connecting the Commodore VIC-20 to the [...]

8-bit game lovers, I present to you leaked footage of Sonic 4. We’ve been covering this game as much as we can so far including our own critique and expectations. I’m proud to say that the game seems to basically be just the old time sega games but with updated graphics and lighting. Things seem much brighter now. Additionally, things seem much less dangerous for Sonic this time around. To be fair, this is only a small snippet of footage.

It sounds and looks like the game, but it has yet to be seen whether or not it feels like the game.
