Even further proof that handhelds are the new refuge for traditional Japanese RPGs, Aksys Games announces Mimana Iyar Chronicles for the PSP, coming very, very soon to UMD and as a digital download on the PlayStation Store. Written by the same folks behind the Lunar series and Tales of Destiny 2, the story centers around [...]
SEGA missed an opportunity here. With Sonic the Hedgehog 4 around the corner it makes sense for them to release Sonic Classic Collection, a Nintendo DS compilation of the original Sonic trilogy and its lock-on add-on, Sonic & Knuckles. What doesn’t make sense is the slapdash job SEGA did bringing these games to the system [...]

To all those parents and politicians who claim video games have a negative influence on children, I say take a good look at Cris, The Ocarina Diva. Influenced by The Legend of Zelda series nearly 11 years ago, Cris began playing the ocarina and hasn’t put it down since. Now she’s sharing her talent with [...]
The large screens makes it resemble a small book, actually. The screen doesn’t appear to be better than my DSi’s. It is not awkward to handle at all, and if by a miracle a seat is snatched on the NYC subway then you’ll be able to whip out your XL and have some pretty good gaming time. Standing though, the DSi is still king in my honest opinion.
There’s just something that gets to you when you grab a guy, stick a knife into him and slam him over and over again. Speaking of which, Shank (the main character of the game) has knives, a chainsaw, guns, grenades and can get other weapons later on such as a shotgun (which we got to see a small glimpse of). You can do loads of things to your enemies, like grappling them, throwing them off buildings, and stringing together some of the most brutal combos seen in a 2D video game.
Those who can, do; those who can’t, buy Wii games and pretend they can. Fortunately for the latter, Hyperkin has developed a series of accessories for the Nintendo Wii to bring professional gaming fantasies to life. Each attachment is made with a soft foam material that’s kid friendly and won’t weigh down gamers as they [...]
PAX East was so incredibly fun and was jam packed with awesome music, such as chiptunes. Here are a few of my favorite photos from those events. Expect loads more to be coming to my site, ThePhoblographer.com within the next two days along with a video performance. Also be sure to check out our cosplay gallery.
The inaugural PAX East was remarkably awesome! And so were the cosplayers and the few booth babes. Here’s a selection of the best of the best here for all of you to check out gathered together in one massive image gallery. Super heroes? Check. Video game characters? Check? Randmo oddballs? Check! Enjoy.
You remember Aksys Game’s Record of the Agarest War: The Really Naughty Edition, don’t you? You know, the strategy-RPG that comes with a special deluxe package featuring a -ahem- rather interesting mouse pad based on one of the in-game characters? Cherie Baker, Aksys Games’ PR dynamo, gave me quality one-on-one time with the accessory. I [...]
