Team 2D-X
2D-X represents the very finest in 2D and 2.5D video game coverage, and has been a news source for high-profile online publications such as Capcom-Unity, Examiner, Google News, MMO Site, and Operation Sports. We’ve also provided in-depth content for traditionally non-gaming sites such as Wise Bread.
Team 2D-X was there when Pong broke onto the scene, Pac-Man chomped his way into the nation’s conscience, Sonic dashed into our hearts, and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior took the fighting genre to an unexpected level. In other words, we’re long time gaming geeks with a deep devotion to the 2D and 2.5D style of play. Read the 2D-X Manifesto.

Timothy Torres, Lead Reviewer
Timothy Torres is a jack…of a few trades. Besides maintaining his personal pop culture blog, Grump Factory, he regularly writes for comedy site Julius Bloop, draws comics, tickles the ivories, and even reads books without pictures on occasion. He also performs improv, and acts in his spare time. In his spare, spare time, he plays anything and everything with pixels and polygons, and writes about it.

Chris Gampat, News Editor/Photographer
Chris Gampat’s love of video games started when he was a wee lad and played Golden Axe on his PC. Since then, he has played Counter Strike Source and Condition Zero professionally. These days, he enjoys games with endless re-playability and time wasters to help quick spurts of time pass by. Chris has worked for the blogs at the PCMag Network, Magnum Photos, Times Square Chronicle, Geek.com and others. He has had formal training in writing, photography and videography. Despite the craze over games like Guitar Hero, Chris firmly believes that nothing will replace the feel of his Fender Jazz Bass in his hands. You can read his professional photo musings at The Phoblographer.
Favorite Genres: FPS, RTS and MMO

Thomas Rivas, Contributor
Born in the Bronx and raised in Miami, Thomas Rivas has lived in almost every state at some point, so he’s decided to finally hang his hat where it all started. He’s a pretty big fan of comic book lore and some sci-fi, but anything with a great story catches his attention.
Favorite Games: The Kingdom Hearts series, Gears of War, God of War and any generally entertaining game that takes longer than just a few hours to beat.
Favorite Genres: Fighters, RPG, Action-Adventure, Strategy and FPS
Fun Fact: I died once. Gotta love Phoenix Down.
Caleb Cox, Contributor
Caleb Cox is not a slacker. In fact, he violently hates the word and vehemently protests the stereotype of video game enthusiasts as lazy degenerates. But until he gets a day job, he sleeps in late and plays old Sega games all day. Whatever, man, it’s the economy. He has written for the Powell High School Newspaper, but he guesses that it really doesn’t matter now, does it?
Favorite Genres: Turn-Based Tactial RPGs, Puzzle Adventures, God Games
Favorite Games: Psychonauts, City of Heroes, Earthbound, Fallout 2, The Unholy War
Fun Fact: Caleb is real stretchy like Dhalsim.
Mike Dudczak, Contributor
Mike Dudczak has been many things in life: a son, an artist, a space cowboy, a lackadaisical ronin, a rat-tailed alchemist, and other protagonists from anime series – but he has always been a gamer, and he occasionally outsources a writer to make up his opinions. After he compensates his ghostwriter for the finished product, he copies it and pastes it as his own, and then rides off into the sunset. He also smells funny.
Favorite Genres: Strategy, RPG, Action/Adventure, Puzzle, Fighting, Board Games
Favorite Games: Final Fantasy III, Ogre Battle, Quest for Glory series, Gomoku, Street Fighter II/IV, Mega Man X, Hot Shots Golf Fore!
Fun Fact: Mike is a non-professional disc golfer, for better or worse.
Rayne Lopez, Contributor
So did you hear the one about the hot girl who loves video games, zombie movies, and MMA? No?! Rayne is not your average girl. Blood, brawling, and video games are just as commonplace as her lip gloss and cell phone. Her love affair with video games began with the NES, and yes, Mario was her first. Her sincere belief: The real trouble with reality is that there are no power ups.
Favorite Genres: Fighters, RPGs, Action-Adventure, Strategy
Favorite Games: Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Guilty Gear X2, God of War, the Kingdom Hearts series, Tekken 6, The SIMs
Fun Fact: Rayne refuses to play any of the Silent Hill games alone.
