Halo 4

343 Industries took on a heavy load with Halo 4. Bungie’s brainchild was so well-received for a reason, and the new developer is carrying one heck of a legacy with the new trilogy.

At Microsoft’s booth at E3, 343 Industries showed off a live demo of Halo 4′s campaign, which takes place five years after the end of Halo 3. Master Chief finds himself landing on Requiem, a Forerunner planet, and, in the first mission, goes to recover the UNSC warship Infinity.

Then 343 Industries let us loose to play multiplayer.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the kind of sequel I like: one that shows improvement.
The second installment in the franchise, developed by Sumo Digital and published by SEGA, livens things up by adding water and air racing to the mix. When it is released, it will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita. The kiosks at E3 had the PlayStation 3 version running.

Epic Mickey 2

It was strange to play an Epic Mickey game with two hands on the same controller.

The Power of Two, the sequel to the Wii-exclusive Disney Epic Mickey, is also on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (I played the latter). It provides some great opportunities, but also some challenges in the gameplay department.

The game controls much like the original. Mickey holds a magic paintbrush that shoots paint (to build the world) and thinner (to erase it). The Wasteland, as well as three types of gameplay – 3D platforming, 2D platforming and boss battles – also return.
