Best 2D Action Game 2009: Shadow Complex
Inspired by classic side-scrolling action such as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Metroid, Chair Entertainment and Epic Games’ Shadow Complex combines everything that we loved about those titles and added a modern twist. Yes, there are maps, leveling up, and passageways to unlock, but a quality script by Peter David, sci-fi/military design, and pseudo 3D gameplay gives Shadow Complex its own marvelous identity that will hopefully spawn a sequel.
