LAS VEGAS – Gamers strive for the greatest gaming experience possible, which includes fragging enemies on the best television possible. LG has several excellent sets slated for release this year that are worthy of consideration — laser and 4K models among them.
At this morning’s LG press conference, LG had one goal and one goal only: to make using electronics simple and natural. LG’s aspires to take the features in technology that frustrate us (like voice commands), and make them what they’re supposed to be — smooth and intuitive.
Among these is the “Hecto” full-HD laser TV projector that can display images up to 100 inches in size with “perfect viewing.” It just need to be 22 inches from the target surface. This technology is beneficial for those who live in apartments or awkwardly shaped homes as they eliminate the need for ceiling-mounted projectors. LG didn’t provide pricing for Hecto.
The most impressive products, however, are LG’s Ultra HD 4K OLED TVs. These sets will range in three sizes from 47 – 84-inch, and will come equipped with at least one built-in subwoofer with 2.1 sound. These sets produce an incredible 2160P visual that pumps out a resolution quadruple that of your current HD TV. The 55-inch model will ship in March (for US customers) at $12,000.
LG had an impressive showcase and is in the running for leading TV family at this year’s CES.
