“The President has been kidnapped by Ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President?”

Yes, folks, Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja (possibly the most kickass title that has ever graced videogamedom) is back, along with 14 other memorable titles from Data East’s vaults, courtesy of Majesco Entertainment.  Data East Arcade Classics features such wonders from yesteryear as BurgerTime, Heavy Barrel, and the absolutely delightful Magical Drop III, which is my all time favorite puzzler.

Designed for the Wii, Data East Arcade Classics will allow gamers to link their high scores to their Mii and accomplish 75 different goals that unlock undisclosed bonus material. Plus, all 15 games support single player, 2-player head-to-head and co-operative multi-player along with Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller or GameCube Controller compatibility.

Data East Arcade Classics is licensed by G-Mode, developed by G1M2, and is expected to  be released early next year for just $19.99.

Man, so many fond memories of these games! I remember buying cheesy ports of them for my Commodore Amiga back in the day (I didn’t own a NES at the time, so it was the only way to play them outside the arcade).

Not sure the nostalgia has quite concealed their age, however. I just recently played Caveman Ninja (aka, Joe and Mac original) and it did not hold up as well as, say, Bonk. But then, few platformers do!
