It’s finally here.

After much waiting, the beloved 2004 freeware PC title Cave Story debuts on WiiWare for a 1,200 Wii Points. If you’ve been gaming from under a rock, Cave Story allows you to play as the amnesiac android Quote, who traverses an unknown land only to discover an evil plot that threatens rabbit-like creatures called Mimigas. You gotta save the bunnies!

During your quest, you’ll power up various weapons to progress while scouring the land to find hidden items that change certain outcomes.  Even better, Cave Story WiiWare adds redone graphics and sound, as well as a Curly Brace Mode, Hard Mode, and Sanctuary Time Attack.

But a question must be asked: would you be willing to pay for a game that’s been available for free for so long?
