After reading my mini-review of Civilization Wars, readers and players have been wondering how to beat the Turtle Boss in the game. He’s rough. Really rough.  In this followup, I’ll tell you all how to beat the Turtle Boss, the Scorpion Boss, and the Octopus Boss.

The Turtle Boss Strategy

There’ a basic strategy for defeating the Turtle Boss: you need to divide, conquer, fill up your crystal reserves, and keep using spells. First off, you need to capture all the bases and crystal wells. Ensure that you’ve got your power-up spells for Support, Crystal Init, Crystal Gathering, Speed and Thunderstorm. You may also want to upgrade the spell recharge ability a bit. Thunderstorm will perhaps be most useful in this case. Start spamming out support like crazy to your enemies buildings and random other buildings to take them quickly. Also start filling up all those crystal reserves to the max. Keep them at the max for the most gathering potential.

Once you’ve got all the bases and all the reserves, start pounding away with Thunderstorms on the Turtle. He’s going to be a hard fight. However, you can get two or three storms on his head at a time. When he’s down to zero, start swarming all your people towards his head. He’s going to start smashing them but at least one group is likely to get through. Once a group does, he will die.

It requires lots of multi-tasking and macro management, but it’s doable. He’s also the easiest of the bosses.

The Scorpion Strategy

This requires the same strategy as the Turtle. However, by now your stats should be significantly more powerful. Ensure that your Thunderstorms and Crystal stats are high. You’re going to need it for this battle.

The Octopus Strategy

Even though this isn’t the last level, it sure is the hardest. You’ve got a timer up top with limited time, so you need to make this quick and dirty. Go back to your stats now and undo everything you’ve done to get your Thunderstorm ability up. Instead, transfer all the credit over the Earthquake. You may even want to decrease your speed a bit and transfer it over to Earthquake as well.

You’re going to need to spam support like crazy on your enemies and on the crystals. You need to capture everything very, very quickly. While doing this, carefully place the Earthquake on the top tentacle of the Octopus. You can even place it so that it hits his head as well. Start moving troops towards your North-East most base. Once the tentacle is down to zero, spam the tentacle with troops. It will go down.

Now, go to town on the Ocotopus’s head and once again start flowing troops up to your North-East. In between quakes, you can even send in troops as they’ll do lots of damage. Do this all quickly before the Octopus unleashes his wrath. Once the head is down to zero, send in another wave or so and he’ll be dead.

    This game is TITS.

How come we cant get console releases that are this good?

Game is kinda cool, unless you try to play on hard. then the first boss is IMPOSSIBLE to beat. IMPOSSIBLE.

Another method of doing the octopus:

Conquer everything quickly, then just mass assault the tentacles starting with the one in the front. With max troop stats every mass strike (using every producing building) will destroy 1 tentacle. By the time all the troops are finished running, the buildings will have replaced your troops. After all 5 tentacles are down, go for the main body. Finished the map with 3 minutes left on the clock this way, no spells used.
