[How To is a recurring feature in which we demonstrate techniques designed to improve your game, and make your skill set more than a little bit awesome. This time out, we’ll help you turn off the PS Vita’s hideous background music.]
The Sony PlayStation Vita (or PS Vita) has been available for purchase in English-speaking countries for some time now, letting portable gamers enjoy the likes of BlazeBlue Continuum Shift Extend, Lumines: Electronic Symphony, The Michael Jackson Experience HD, Mutant Blobs Attack, and more while at home or on the road. It’s a swell system, really.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably wanted to poke your eardrums out more than once upon hearing the horrid background music that permeates every area of the system. Fortunately, you can turn off the blasted “music.” Here’s how to do it, and save your sanity.
1. Power on your PS Vita.
2. Tap Settings > Start.
3. Scroll down to Sound & Display. Tap to Enter.
4. Uncheck System Music, and exit Settings.
5. Boom! No more craptacular music. Celebrate with a cold one.
