Well, Lost is finally over. As one of the few people on Earth satisfied with the ending (and the majority of its six year run!) it’s disappointing there’s never been a Lost game, seeing how video games and mysterious islands have gone hand-in-hand since Star Tropics or Myst.

Wait, what? There was a game called Lost: Via Domus for PC or something, you say? Well, did it look as adorable and charming as Adam Campbell’s recently revealed 8-bit interpretation of the TV series?

Campbell’s take on the Lost universe looks like a cross between Zelda and Mother/Earthbound; in otherwords, exactly what a mind-bending exploration game based on Lost should look like. Just look at Jack, Locke and the others (The Others?!) waddle! And look at that little 8-bit detail. Locke’s got a scar and knife.

There’s even a mock-up NES cartridge!

When asked by website Geekosystem if this was just a series of mock images or a full-on playable game Campbell only provided a Lost-sized tease: “There are plans, I’m working on stuff right now. Hopefully there will be more to see soon.”

Argh! Hopefully we don’t have to wait a full year for the next seaso– oh, nevermind. Hopefully we don’t have to wait long to see more. I’d love to see how he animates ‘ol Smokey.
