The heart of PAX East 2010 is video games, so it’s quite easy for attendees to overlook elements of the show that aren’t game demos, contents, swag, and dudes dressed as Princess Peach (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).

Those hankering for a different aspect of gaming culture should be certain to pen in time to check out many of the musical performers that are set to rock the Hynes Veteran Memorial Convention Center next weekend.

The PAX East 2010 musical acts include:

Anamanaguchi: Chiptunes

MC Frontalot: Nerdcore hip hop

Metroid Metal: Covers Metroid compositions.

Protomen: This band plays Mega Man-themed tunes.

In addition to these chiptuners, hip hoppers, and cover bands, there are a number of panels spotlighting the unsung heroes of game music throughout the festival. Check out PAX East 2010′s official schedule for a full list of audio-based programming.
