Scribblenauts Gets a Sept. 15 Release Date

If Scribblenauts doesn’t currently place high on your “Games I Must Play In 2009″ list, you hate everything that is wonderful and pure in existence. Hyperbole? I confess, a tad. But I still question your gaming pedigree.

Scribblenauts is a title that’s almost doomed to disappoint the legions of gaming nerds that have inhaled every news item about the upcoming 5th Cell title, and elevated it to god-level status before we’ve had any playtime with it  – - myself included. Still, it’s awfully hard not to get hyped for a puzzle game in which writing virtually any word on the DS’ screen,  from  “car” to “god”, materializes it into a real in-game item that you can use to best challenges. That’s near-infinite replay value.

So when Scribblenaut‘s September 15th release date was revealed today, it was of mixed emotion. I wish it was, say, tomorrow, but at the same time, 5th Cell needs as a large as window as possible to get this baby right. There’s no second chances in garnering this level of anticipation.
