SEGA was to release big news regarding Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 today, but the two-part announcement proved remarkably ho hum. First, SEGA let fans know that the game, originally slated to appear as a downloadble this summer, has been pushed back to “latter half” 2010. Diehards are no doubt nosediving off bridges, but I welcome the chance for SEGA to polish up our boy in blue.
Secondly, Sonic the Hedgehog : Episode 1 is heading to the iPhone and iPod touch–not much of a shocker. Curiously, there was no mention of an iPad version, so you may have to play an upscaled version of the app on Apple’s wonder-tablet.
That’s it. No Dreamcast 2 announcement. No extra characters revealed. Sonic 4′s delayed, and will appear on Apple’s platforms. That is all.
Oh, there’s also a new trailer.
