One question that I receive on a somewhat regular basis asks how one goes about unleashing Kenshiro’s 100 Crack Fist finisher. Here’s how to do it.
NIS America has acquired the licensing rights for Black Rock Shooter: The Game for PSP, so that North American and European gamers can get in on the action-RPG shenanigans.
Tecmo Koei once again combines the tried and true Dynasty Warriors formula with big robot anime in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3. It has the flaw inherent to most Dynasty Warriors titles (repetitiveness), but if you can look beyond that, it’s quite a solid title with lots of bang for the buck.
Fact: Mention the name Duke Togo (aka hitman extraordinaire Golgo 13) to any anime fan under age 25, and they’ll give you a perplexed look similar to the old RCA dog. Additional Fact: Mention the name Duke Togo to any anime fan over age 25, and smiles, high-fives, and yelps of “oh shit!” will erupt [...]
Sheep Man is apparently quickly becoming the Mega Man fan boy’s favorite as numerous amounts of fan art of him have surfaced on the interwebs this past weekend. Though not much information has been released on him, his powers or how his character will really play out in the game, he’s seemingly the fluffy type of bad ass that you won’t want to mess with. Perhaps he may ram you to death or choke you because wool is itchy. Then again, he also looks a bit like a robotic version of Majin Buu from the Dragon Ball Z series. Either way, here’s more fluffy fan art after the jump.
Lux-Pain is part of the terrible epidemic that has been sweeping the Japanese development scene in the past decade or so. It seems every director secretly wants to work in the anime field, but since they’re stuck in the far more challenging world of video games with nothing but blob-eyed girls and Evangelion rip-offs in [...]
Before you download this 2D fighter that was supposedly created by an ex-Capcom employee, ask yourself two questions. One: Do I like punching video game opponents in the face? Two: Do I like punching cute video game opponents in the face? If your answer is either (but mainly the latter), then Vanguard Princess is for [...]
How did this slip under the Dragon Radar? Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo, a 2.5D platformer exclusively for the Wii, comes out later this month in Japan. Based on the original manga by Akira Toriyama, the new game focuses on Goku’s early adventures and his fight against the Red Ribbon Army and Piccolo Daimao. [...]
If you were to ask me to name the biggest influences on my life, Macross would rank just behind, Mama Wilson, MLK, Thomas Paine, and Chris Claremont. It may seem odd to place a melodramatic cartoon aimed at Japanese teens as such a powerful factor, but it was my first exposure to serious themes and circumstances [...]
It may be a pot-kettle-black situation for me to point fingers and giggle at the otaku who know the ins and outs of the anime fighters in Tatsunoku vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars when I can, unfortunately, give a detailed account of why Hokuto no Ken‘s Roah and Toki have a deep, life-long beef. I could attribute [...]
