When it comes to fighting games, few men know are as knowledgable as Capcom’s Seth Killian–which is why 2D-X News Editors Avion Foster-Jarvis and Eric Guzman arranged a meeting with him at New York Comic Con. The three men chatted about the intricacies of the Street Fighter X Tekken Gem System and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3‘s Heroes and Heralds mode.

New York Comic Con witnessed Capcom crush the hearts of hardcore fight fans once again with the announcement of a new gameplay mechanic called the Gem System. The system is meant to help casual fighters join the fray, and compete with more advanced players. The announcement came with the sound of many groans and cheers at Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken panel.
Nerd nation is out enjoying the sights and sounds at NY Comic Con 2011. Today, I played a new build Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 build–it has come a long way from what it was showcased at Fight Club earlier this year. To begin, I will only discuss the new characters that have been revealed: Vergil, Nova, Pheonix Wright, and Iron Fist.
Final Fight ranks up there with Double Dragon and Renegade as the early standouts of the beat ‘em up genre. It controls well, looks good, and features decent music. It may no longer hold its swagger in a post-Streets of Rage II world, but those that fondly remember pumping quarters in this sucker, or enjoy its simplicity, will find the $2.99 Final Fight a worthy iPhone game.
Capcom expanded its iOS catalog today by releasing Final Fight and Street Fighter II Collection, as well as updating Street Fighter IV: Volt.
