Stockholm 8-bit Subway

A portion of the city’s subway system is now adorned with 8-bit art inspired by Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros. As such, you can find clouds, mushrooms, pipes, ghosts, ladders, and other elements from old school games. Bit Rebels has several shots of the retro-themed tile art that is worth a gander if you’re a fan of ol’ school visuals.

I have to confess that there was much internal debate regarding whether or not a site devoted to the 2D gaming scene should cover with “3D” smack dab in the beginning of its title. But alas, 3D Dot Heroes, Atlus’ upcoming PlayStation 3 throwback action game, has sold me on its retroness.

The 20th anniversary of the Sega Genesis’ U.S. debut will soon be upon us, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that all manner of Genny product will be introduced in time to satisfy nostalgia-drunk gamers. And I welcome it. Hyperkin is one those companies. In late August, it will release two Sega-licensed game systems: The [...]

It’s said that the only guarantees in life are death and taxes, but I’d like to ammend that statement with an extra category: an annual Sega hardware rumor. Since the premature exit of the beloved Sega Dreamcast, the rumor mill gets a-grindin’, churning out a small dose of hope to which fanboys and retrogamers cling [...]
