SEGA threw Sonic a birthday bash at E3 2011. Here are some of the highlights.
SEGA celebrates two decades of Sonic with a game that appeals to both old school and new school fans.
SEGA is finally kicking the speed up a notch for Sonic’s latest adventure.
8-bit game lovers, I present to you leaked footage of Sonic 4. We’ve been covering this game as much as we can so far including our own critique and expectations. I’m proud to say that the game seems to basically be just the old time sega games but with updated graphics and lighting. Things seem much brighter now. Additionally, things seem much less dangerous for Sonic this time around. To be fair, this is only a small snippet of footage.
It sounds and looks like the game, but it has yet to be seen whether or not it feels like the game.

Those SEGA folks sure pulled a fast one. And I approve of their shenanigans. The company threw the collective gaming world for a loop with its week-long trivia contest that was designed to let blog.sega.com commenters eliminate a list of Sonic sidekicks and extras to reveal the true playable characters. After all the dust was [...]
Longtime Sonic fans who have been consistently abused by the hedgehog’s post 16-bit adventures have flocked to Project Needlemouse as the series’ savior. The famous trailer that dropped last year hyped the series’ return to classic 2D gameplay, and was seen as the great vindicator for over a decade of subpar Sonic offerings (despite any [...]
The splinter in my heart is Sonic, my highly attractive yet brutally abusive lover. He (and by direct extension, SEGA) have continually hurt me, when all I’ve wanted is for him to love me as he used. to in those early, tender years. I sincerely ask SEGA to either stop with the Sonic bullshit or I’m walking away. Forever.
Virtual Vox Pop is a weekly open mic in which we ask you, the reader, to sound off on a particular topic. This week, it’s Rocket Knight’s return. I know what you’re thinking: ’90s mascots sucked and need to be buried in 6 feet of cement so that their derivative stench can stay far away [...]
When I think of a person that’s truly a fan of SEGA’s body of work, no one comes to mind before Terry “Valkor” Lewis, editor-in-chief of The Other View. From the Genesis’ time to the present day, he’s stuck faithfully by SEGA’s side. Today, he’s here to talk Dreamcast as our week-long reflection continues. What [...]
My diverse musical tastes have motivated others, both friend and stranger, to toss heinous names of all sorts in my general direction. I’ve been called a hipster, hipster-wannabe, blipster, and sell-out for my love of just-off-the-mainstream sounds. If I were to share my Slacker stations with you, you’d find programming that leaps from The Talking [...]
