A few weeks ago, 2D fighting fans were all jazzed at the news that the horribly named Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is headed to the good ol’ USA, despite the fact the majority of gamers probably won’t recognize more than a handful (if that much) of the Tatsunoko roster. Regardless, props to Capcom for delivering the goods.
Capcom has finally given Wii gamers a time frame for the title: December, just in time for Festivus and various other winter festivals. Still, I question why Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars is being released on Nintendo’s party-centric console. I may be pondering the future of this title way more than I should, but isn’t a 2D fighter with semi-obscure characters better served on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 where the hardcore would appreciate the martial arts action? I can’t imagine a family of four dropping Wii Sports in favor of Ken the Eagle. Maybe my fam, but as a whole? Eh.
