America loves cars. America loves zombies. America loves smashing things. They are our favorite pastimes, really. Sadly, those three elements of awesome rarely come together into one complete package, but Polish developer EXOR Studios merges them with Zombie Driver, the company’s first commercial PC video game release.

Zombie Driver is an apocalyptic action driving game that asks you to plow your car through the zombie-filled streets of an infested city to save the survivors of a chemical accident that changed most of the city’s population into mindless brain-hungry monsters. When the hordes become too much to handle, you can purchase new wheels or upgrade your guns using the cash accumulated for finishing side quests, making kill combos, and searching for hidden prizes.

With Zombie Driver you get:

  • 17 story missions with sub quests and bonus objectives
  • Huge, free roaming city, infested by thousands of brain hungry zombies
  • 6 different cars including an unlockable super car
  • 9 different upgrades for each car, which can transform even an taxi into a chariot of death
  • All cars can be mounted with mini-guns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers or even dual railguns
  • All weapons have 3 upgrade levels
  • Dynamic combo system
  • Many vicious zombie types including zombie dogs

Zombie Driver looks to be one part Grand Theft Auto mixed with Spy Hunter, served with a side of shmup. Zombie Driver will be available for the PC via digital distribution next month at an undisclosed price.
